2025 Queen Anne Farmers Market Poster Reveal

2025 Queen Anne Farmers Market Poster Reveal

Thanks to everyone who joined us last weekend for the 2025 Queen Anne Farmers Market poster unveiling pop-up event. It was fun to meet some market regulars and share the new artwork, inspired by my visit to the market last fall!

Folks have asked about the inspiration and concept behind this season's poster. There was no shortage of beautiful produce to sketch from. Colorful, rainbow swiss chard, numerous varieties of eggplant, and beautiful jars of jams, pickles, and flowers caught my eye. But there was something about Puget Sound Mushroom's elegant basket of  mixed mushrooms that really stood out and lent itself to a gestural, brush pen rendering. The mushrooms seemed to take on anthropomorphic qualities, and the variety of shapes and textures were fun to abstract into simplified linework and mark making.

It was a fun challenge to hand letter all of the typography, and you can see it weaving throughout the poster. The color palette is earthy and garden-inspired: a rich soil brown, mossy green, harvest orange, and a small pop of lilac. We selected a natural white paper stock to print on to continue with the earthy theme.

You'll see a few more pieces of art rolling in for the Spring Preview and Harvest Market days, and merch with the season poster art will be ready by the time the market kicks off next month. I'm particularly excited about the tote bags. I know, who needs another tote bag? But perhaps its time to replace that junky old one from your partner's 2010 work conference. Sales from all of the merch benefit the Queen Anne Farmers Market. Read more about the non-profit organization here.
