FAQs
Mee-sha Zah-day (rhymes with Sadé). It’s Persian / Iranian (ee-ron-ian) . We think pronunciation matters!
Misha founded her stationery company, Turquoise Creative, in 2002. It evolved into Misha Zadeh Illustration & Design in 2016. We have been selling on Etsy since 2008 with almost 7,000 orders and an average 4.9/5 star rating. MishaZadeh.com will be our flagship shopping destination going forward. If you’ve enjoyed your experience with us, may we ask you to please tell a friend or two?
Both are great! Our housewares and paper goods are carried in hundreds of shops around the United States. We always encourage you to buy local and support your neighborhood businesses when you can. MishaZadeh.com will have the widest selection of our products, and we like to think our customer service can not be beat! However, if we do not have a specific item that you are looking for, we may be able to help you locate it through one of our retailers. Just send us a note!
Not yet — but we do offer free local pickup at our Ballard studio (near Ballard High School). You can find our things in a number of lovely shops like the Seattle Art Museum Gift Shop, Swanson’s, Ravenna Gardens, Resoul, Burnt Sugar, and Whale Wins Larder.
We also do a few craft shows and pop ups throughout the year, our biggest one being the PNA Winter Festival (Dec 4th and 5th, 2021). Check the Blog for any upcoming events and sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear of new in-person shopping opportunities.
Giclee prints are professionally printed and often made to order. Please allow up to 3 or 4 business days for them to ship. All other items should be in stock, unless specifically noted as a pre-order. In-stock items will ship within 1 to 3 business days (usually it’s within one day). Expect longer turnaround times during holidays. You are always welcome to email us with your order number to request priority processing.
As of October 1, 2021, USPS announced both an intentional slowing of service and a major increase of rates. Because of this, we may ship with USPS, UPS, or other carriers to find the best rate. You can always upgrade to a faster (and more expensive) shipping method at checkout. This will not speed up our processing time, just the shipping speed once your order leaves our studio.
Nearly everything featured in our shop begins as an original handmade piece of art by Misha Zadeh. That art may then be turned into decals and put on various substrates (ceramic, melamine, wood, fabric). Oftentimes this is also a handmade process that is overseen by other artisans from around the world. We do offer original art and ceramic pieces from time to time. They will be noted as such in the item description.
Most of our paper goods are printed within five miles of our studio in Seattle, WA. We also work with printers up and down the West Coast. Our knit throw blankets, acrylic keychains, and stickers are made in the USA. Our scarves and wraps are made in India. Our licensed housewares are made in China and India in factories carefully vetted by our licensing partners.
Yes! If your business or organization is interested in licensing existing art or commissioning something in the Misha Zadeh style, let's talk. Please join the conversation ready to share your project’s scope, timeline and budget.
Yes, from time to time, though not right now. When windows open up for this, it will be announced in our newsletter. Make sure you sign up for that!
We have donated many products and thousands of dollars over the years. You can always reach out to tell us about your event and request a donation. We apologize in advance that we can not accommodate every request that comes our way.
Yes! Misha loves to speak about art, design, licensing, Iranian heritage and immigrant experiences, and has presented at the University of Washington Division of Design, Cornish Design, Syracuse Illustration, Spoonflower Symposium, Seattle Iranian Festival, Tether Talks and more. Please email us the particulars of your event and let’s see if it's a good fit!
